What I built
- Led Android front end development in Java with Material Components
- Integrated ExoPlayer for video playback inside a scrolling list without dropping frames
- Built the client networking layer on OkHttp and moved work off the main thread
- Built the social features: profiles, news feed, comments and likes
- Wrote the PHP and MySQL API layer serving the feed, profiles, comments and likes
- Built the content moderation and management surface behind it
- Wired Firebase Cloud Messaging so new content reaches users immediately
- Added OAuth and social login to cut signup friction
- Integrated AdMob banner and interstitial placements for monetisation
